This is a polymer with an important application in coatings.\u00a0<a href=\"\/en\/dienst\/epoxy-gietvloer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Epoxy flooring<\/a>\u00a0have become popular for industrial applications due to their abrasion resistance, good chemical and mechanical resistance and liquid proofing.<\/p>\n<p>This floor is dust-free, easy to keep clean and can be either smooth or non-slip. This floor finish is applied by wiping and rolling (typical layer thickness about 0.2 to 0.3 mm with 2 layers). It is widely used in factories, workshops, garages, warehouses, showrooms and other areas where high demands are placed on the durability, abrasion resistance and chemical resistance of the floor.<\/p>\n<p>Epoxy floor coating is also popular in the food and beverage industry because of its liquid-proof and hygienic properties. Thus, it can be used in kitchens, bakeries, slaughterhouses and other areas where food is prepared and processed.<\/p>\n<p>In short, epoxy floor coating can be used in almost any environment where a durable, professional and easy-to-maintain floor is desired. It is especially suitable for areas where high loads and heavy use are expected, and where high standards of hygiene and safety are required.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Versions epoxy floor coating<\/h2>\n<p>Gacon supplies epoxy floor coating floors in three different designs:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>Roller coating<\/em>; Epoxy floor coating is used as a roller coating on concrete and cement-bound screeds with normal to medium loads in e.g. storage and logistics areas, production areas, workshops, garages, loading bays, etc.<\/li>\n<li><em>Sealing layer<\/em>; It can also be used as a sealing layer for infilled systems, such as for multi-storey and underground car parks, maintenance hangars and for wet process areas, e.g. in the beverage and food industry.<\/li>\n<li><em>Cast floor<\/em>; Finally, a self-levelling screed on concrete and cement-based screeds with normal to medium loads.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Available in several colours<\/h2>\n<p>An epoxy floor coating is available in a number of standard colours in which some discolouration and colour deviation may occur under the influence of direct sunlight. This discolouration does not affect the functionality and performance of the coating.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Maintenance and cleaning<\/h2>\n<p>In roller coating, the floor coating runs parallel to the level of the substrate; a flat surface is obtained if the substrate is flat. The surface texture is thus strongly determined by the texture of the substrate. For this reason, diamond abrasion of the substrate may be chosen instead of machine ball blasting to avoid leaving blasting lines visible.<\/p>\n<p>An epoxy floor coating is suitable as a durable, seamless finish for cement- and gypsum-based substrates. The high initial gloss of the solvent-free epoxy coating reduces to egg gloss after the floor is commissioned.<\/p>\n<p>For durable preservation of the floor finish, the floor should be cleaned regularly with brushes, scrubbing\/suction machines, rubber squeegees, high-pressure cleaning etc. using suitable cleaning agents. Cleaning advice is provided for this purpose. In addition, all spillages should be removed as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Method of epoxy floor coating<\/h2>\n<p>The duration of execution depends on the system construction, the surface to be treated and the number of layers. The duration of execution can vary from 2 to 5 days. Broadly speaking, these are the work we carry out:<\/p>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pretreatment substrate<\/li>\n<li>Applying primer<\/li>\n<li>Levelling if required<\/li>\n<li>Application of one or more coating or casting layers, with anti-slip if required<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Epoxy coating and vapour pressure<\/h2>\n<p>A water-based epoxy coating provides a vapour-permeable floor finish suitable for environments where vapour pressure may occur due to moisture transport from the substrate, such as basement floors below a ground level. The coating allows vapours to pass through, thus better regulating moisture in the room and reducing the risk of mould, allergies and respiratory problems.
